WinCC OA UI for Windows Phone

Post by johanningmann »

is there a plan to develop the UI as well for the Windows Phone?
I know that the Windows Phone is not as famous like OS or Android but our company run the Windows Phone world wide for our employees as the standard phone. :(

we currently do not plan to develop a special App for Windows Phone.
We will ship with 3.15 an "App" we call Desktop UI that is the same package like the Android and iOS App but for Windows and Linux.
We tested this package on some Windows tablets and it was working fine. Until now we haven't tested it on Windows Phone.
Which type of Windows Phone you have in your company?

Best wishes

Version 3.15 will be available soon, we would be glad to hear if the new Desktop UI works on your devices.

I am afraid the Desktop UI of WinCC OA 3.15 will not work directly for your devices. They use an ARM core. The Desktop UI is only available for Windows with Intel x86 (32bit or 64bit) compatible cpus.

However, it seems that Microsoft is willing to provide emulation for x86 applications for Windows phones on ARM, see:
http://www.windowscentral.com/windows-1 ... -emulation

Eventually afterwards it would be possible for you to use it. I do not see official support for WinCC OA UI on Windows Phone on ARM in the near future.
