Error reading the project list

When I open the Win CC OAConsole, I get an error "Error reading the project list" which I have to OK.

Everything seems to be OK after that - the projects all run and seem to be fine.

Any ideas what may cause this?

maybe you have deleted or modified some projects which are registered with different settings.
Please open the WinCC OA project administration. If invalid projects are detected you should get a diialog with more detailed information and the possibility to "delete" the projects.

Yes - that was the problem - I had to "Double Click for list of older projects" first and then deleted the project which had an error.

did you open a new UI (from the start menu) to check if an error is reported?
If you open the project administration from an already started console maybe the error is not reported again.
