according to the WinCC OA Help (V3.14) the config entry "useLocalIdentification" belongs in the [data] section of the config file.
It is recommended to use it for managers that run on different computers that the data manager.
Our tests have shown that the above config entry must be added to the ui or ctrl sections (or whatever managers are running remotely) of the config file to activate this feature to me.
That makes sense to me because it is actually the affected manager that saves the identification list, and not the data manager.
Is my conclusion right, then, that only the description of this feature in the help file is wrong?

Re: local identification list
I guess the online help is wrong and any manager can use the local identification.
Also in the online help under 'Reference tables -> Configuration file -> Possible config entries in WinCC OA' this config entry is only described in the ui section.

Re: local identification list
Unfortunately this is indeed wrong in our documentation and will be corrected in one of the next patches.
Thx for the hint.
