Panel Objects in foreground/background

Post by RudiKreiner »

It seems to me that objects of the type "table" and "pushbutton" always go the foreground of a panel, even if one tries to put other objects in front of them in the GEDI.
Is there any way to put other objects, like lines that only cover parts of those objects, in front of them?

Hello,

complex graphical objects are always in front of primitive objects.
There is no possibility to change the order.

OK, thanks. From the GEDI objects menu, i see that there are 4 groups of objects, named primitives, widgets, more objects and EWOs.
After some testing it appears to me that the layering order of widgets, more objects and EWOs can be adjusted as required, but that all primitive objects are always behind these.
I don't really understand why, but I guess that is just the way it is.

The reason is simple. Widgets (EWOs are widgets) are objects drawn into their own "drawing surface" (or window), primitives are drawn directly onto the panel background (the panel itself is one widget)
