Integration between Siemens LOGO! and WinCC OA

Hi there!

I have a project where I need to integrate a Siemens LOGO! (PLC slave) with WinCC OA as the SCADA system.
The SCADA server will be running on RHEL 6.5 or later.

The following is the specifications of the PLC:

CPU: 230RC AC/DC 115~240, digital input 8 (AC/DC), digital output 4 (Relay 5A)
Expansion: DM8 230R digital input 4 (AC/DC), digital output 4 (Relay 5A)

Can I know what is the most efficient and cost effective way to integrate this PLC to WinCC OA?
What are drivers I would need to purchase?

I think the only way is to use the S7 driver, but you will need to do some work in the logo it get it working.
As an alternative you could also use a S7-1200, then you do not need any work for the communication in the plc (only a minor configuration change).

Will integration be through the same S7 driver, or will there be a new driver specifically for the LOGO? Which memory areas will we be able to access?

If you cannot wait until 3.15 is released you can also use 3.12 with at least patch 26.

It is integrated in the S7 driver. You will need to configure the LOGO! for S7 communication, it includes also the addresses which can be read/written.
