PVSS 3.9 Start as a service Win 7 64pro

Post by jasondonovan »

Having used v3.9 for 4 years (due to be upgraded soon to 3.13) - I have purchased new servers with Win7-64pro - I cannot get the PVSS service to autostart, there is always an error. ( I have this working with WinServer2008 without problems)
Is there any advise with v3.9 and Win7-64pro

Help appreciated..

Hello,

can you please described the error more detailed.
Do you get this error when registering the service, during configuration or when trying to start it?

Registering the service was okay, this worked fine and is in the services listing, but we get an error code 2 when trying to start the service manually.

do your project logfiles contain any entries about that service start? if not, please try to find the file "pmon_log.txt", which should be in the log folder of your WinCC OA installation, or in the TEMP directory if it doesn't have write access there.

Perhaps the windows event viewer contains more information regarding this error.

Hello,

I tested it on my Windows 7 machine and the service worked without problems.
Have you been using a command shell opened with administration permission to install the service and to register the project?

Can you please try it again with a command shell started as administrator.
First of all remove the installed service and follow the procedure to register the service and the project.

Maybe some registry keys are refering to programs which do not exist any more.
