Hello,
I'm looking for a list of files to be translated, in order to use WinCC OA in other language.
We have already translated the files *.cat in the directory " msg " but it is not sufficient
I suppose that the files *.pnl must be also translated (Is there any tools to extract texts to be translated)
In the "log Viewer", some messages still to be displayed in English (WCCILdata)
regards
Emmanuel

Look for the word 'Translator' in the help file. There's a tool that will export text from any panel. The 'problem' however is the usage of certain words. For example: you may find the word 'Ok' on several panels. Sometimes they mean 'Close' and sometimes they mean 'Confirm'. A stupid transaltion could mean that som epanels look weird.
Also look for 'Translation of Qt menus'. WinCC Oa uses Qt and that also offers an option to translate text. Some widgets (like the trend) have 'built in' text and the Qt Linguist will help you to translate these as well.
Good luck !

Hello,
as described in the previous posting you can use the Translator tool to read language dependent information.
The translator can only be used when the project contains more than one language. At the export you have to define what the key-language is. The target system must use the same language as key language. Then you can translate the given textes to another language.
A translation of all log-messages is not possible because most of them are hardcoded in the source code.
