Time base conversion fro UTC to TAI

Post by pedicar »

Dear all as my company is going to use TAI time scale for HMI Visualization timestamping
I would like to know if it is possible to set a different time base on WinCC Oa apart UTC
Maybe USing the Time functions or SetTime() function.
Please let me know
Thanks.

Hello,

I do not understand exactly what you want to do.
The time information in WinCC OA is internally always in UTC. If the time is displayed (converted to a string) the current timezone settings for the computer are used.
E.g. : 2014.05.22 12:00 UTC will be displayed as 2014.05.22 13:00 CET (on a computer in Italy).

Hello,

WinCC OA is calling a function provided by the operating system to get the current time in UTC (without time zone specific deviation).
If your computer is synchronzied to TAI this will not cause problems. You will have a deviation of 35 seconds compared to a computer which is synchronized to UTC.
