LBP Wizzard

Post by aorange »

Hi everyone, it has been a while since I posted anything here but I here I am again :D

I am working on a project where we are using the LBP library and we are experiencing a lot of issues generating the LPB objects in the OA project using the LBP Wizard. I am wondering if anyone here has used this tool and has any good tips for how to get it to work.

In short, some of the issues that we are experiencing are that sometimes we can only generate objects of a specific type (AnaRead for example) and for one PLC only. The other LBP types are generated in PARA but are not parameterised with a periphery address and hence do not receive any data from the PLC.
The LBP wizard seems quite buggy to be fair, when trying to sort the list of objects present in the export file under "Make", it is e.g. not possible to sort the table so that items are listen in alphabetical order... well you can sort the list but if you try to generate an object after sorting the list, the index of the object you chose is messed up and it just generates some other, seemingly random, object. It would seem as if only the first column is sorted alphabetically.

The "use prefix" checkbox also seems really buggy. Sometimes it is checked and there are no prefixes shown, other times it does the opposite.

The PLC code is being developed in TIA v.17 and we are using OA v.3.18 P016.

Please take into account that the LBP Wizard is not part of the standard installation of WinCC OA.
If you need information for this tool please get in contact with the person who has provided information for the LBP Wizard.
When searching the internet I could find the following information (document not issued by ETM):
