Mobile UI - QR Code scanner

Post by amichon »

Hello,

Is there a solution to have a QR Code scanner in a mobile panel ?

Is it planned in next releases ?

I checked our internal database but I have not found any information related to a feature to use a QR Code scanner.
Normally on a mobile device it works by activating the camera.
Why do you need it inside of a WinCC OA panel?

The idea is to use the QR Code as input inside the App. For example go to machine, scan the code and the correct panel opens.

Yes the main ideas are to use the mobile :
- to check a product before launching production,
- scan a qr code to localize the production area and open the correct panel
- to fill an input text with the pallet number or any production data

The QR code can refer to a web page which is linked to a ULC UX connection.
Then you can scan the code and show WinCC OA information at your mobile device.

Yes of course but it required ULCUX.
ULC UX is not very the best UI for mobile.

I think it's very interesting to be able to get data from a qr code or a bar code scanner directly inside Mobile UI.

Depends on the OS, sometimes it is possible to activate a qr/barcode scanner instead of the keyboard but it is not integrated in WinCC OA.

I think it is not a big effort to add to WinCC OA.
There's an opensource project based on Qt to do that https://www.openhub.net/p/QZXing

Please, talk to the product team !
