CTRL libs cannot be reloaded, if CTRL++ class has changes

Post by n.kuehl »

Hello,

I have a CTRL library in which several classes are defined. If I make changes to functions within these classes and want to reload the CTRL libraries, I have to restart the gedi every time. I get the message: "CTRL libs cannot be reloaded because they are currently in use. Close all panels and try again". But I don't have any panels open. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help

Hello,

you are doing everything right! The error message is unfortunately normal and there is nothing you can do about it. Sometimes the Gedi reloads the CTRL libraries despite the error message. But to be on the safe side I would always restart the gedi. To make the restart more pleasant I always set the manager options for the start on always and specify the user with password in the manager options. For example "-user root:mypasswort". Then you don't have to enter the password again at every start and the Gedi is immediately available.

Thanks @kilianvp.

Is there an official solution in sight? Because for me this is a bug.
