Hi,
We've setup WinCC OA to use OS Auth for User Administration and it successfully connects to the OS and brings in Groups from the OS when selected. The permissions can then be set for each Group as required. The issue we are having is that the only user that seems to be able to log in to WinCC OA is the currently logged in OS user.
We have added the /etc/pam.d/wincc_oa file with content auth include password-auth as mentioned in the Online Help.
We haven't yet connected the OS to a domain. Does OS Auth only work when the OS is a member of a domain?
We are running WinCC OA 3.17 on Redhat Linux 8.
Cheers
Eric

Re: OS Auth - User Authentication
The chapter in the documentation which you referring to describes the configuration of a Linux client with a Windows Domain Controller.
Possibly this is the cause why it does not work with the given configuration.

Re: OS Auth - User Authentication
Hi Leopold,
Without the /etc/pam.d/wincc_oa file we can only login using the root user. With the file we can at least login with the root user and the current OS user.
Do you know what configuration needs to be used to allow us to login to WinCC OA with any OS users?
Ultimately we want to be able to auto login to the OS with a default user and then freely login and out of WinCC OA with any of the OS users. We plan to use an LDAP directory server.
Cheers
