Hi,
I have a WinCC OA project developed on 3.10 on Windows. I am trying to port the project to 3.11 Linux.
My question is of 2 parts:
1. How do I port from Windows to Linux? I understand that the dlls and windows specific api's have to be changed. Other than that, what other changes do i have to make?
2. How do I port the project from 3.10 to 3.11? There are these manager changes I am trying to get a grasp on (like pvss00 in 3.10 to Win in 3.11). How do I bring about this change?

Re: Porting WinCC OA project from 3.10 to 3.11 Linux
There is typically a migration path from one version of WinCC-OA to the next... when you install e.g. 3.11 and attempt to start a 3.10 project for the first time, you will be asked if you want to upgrade the project. If you chose to do so, the wizard will usually take care of all the necessary changes to your project.
The only things that you need to be mindful of is if you have written your own drivers, these will need to be rebuilt against the new API and in the case of 3.11 there was also a move from VisualStudio 2008 to 2010, so you need to rebuild these using the later version of VisualStudio.
As for moving cross-platform.. I have no idea how this is done =)

Re: Porting WinCC OA project from 3.10 to 3.11 Linux
Hello,
the necessary steps to make the project upgrade are described at the WinCC OA online help:
Installation --> Project administration --> Project administration --> Update project.
Normally a WinCC OA project can be copied from Windows to Linux without changes. After registering the project it can be started.
If you are using 3rd-party products (dll-extensions, other programs, ....) you have to ensure that they are available on Linux. ActiveX-elements can only be used on Windows, therefore panels with ActiveX-elements will not work on Linux.
