WinCC 3.10 and WinCC 3.16 distribution compatibility

Hi all,

We are initializing an update of our WinCC projects from 3.10 to 3.16
Our projects use massively the distribution feature of WinCC. One central system give an access to all other through dist.

Unfortunatelly, after a Proof of Concept of migration, I realize that 3.10 and 3.16 distribution seems to be not compatible. Impossible to be connected together. Project don't try to connect at all.
In fact, intercompatibility should greatelly help us for migration plan (migrate project one by one wheras all in one time in case of non compatibility).

Have I done something wrong ? Is it a way to migrate smoothly and connecting old vs new projects together ?

A dist connection between 3.10 and 3.16 is possible.

If you want to connect projects of versions 3.11 and newer with older version you have to keep in mind that newer versions are using the Proxy manager (by default).
This is maybe the problem why your systems do not connect as the project of version 3.16 is using the Proxy manager.

In the Dist configuration for the 3.16 project you can define if the connection shall be made using a Proxy or not.

Please check the dist settings in your project.
