WinCC OA TIA Export Tool 15.1

Hi there,

I've been playing around with s7plus driver and simatic export tool. I was doing some tests on retrieving large arrays from PLCs.

I'm using S7-1518 with 20mb data work memory. If I try to fill it up with arrays in a single data block and export the PLC for WinCC OA use, the export size is ~300MB.

What does this export tool "really export"? Isn't it just the configuration of the plc? Is every index in PLC arrays have different attributes? or are they duplicated in the export file somehow?

There is only one data block created in a clean PLC project and its populated with:

one instance of "Array[0..9999] of LReal"
and 12 instances of "Array[0..149999] of LReal"

We already talked to the TIA colleagues responsible for the export, but i would not expect an improvement in the near feature.
