Hello, according the OPC HDA 1.20 specification
Bounding Values - Bounding values are required by clients to determine the entry and exit points
when requesting raw data over a time range. If a raw data value exists at the entry or exit point, it is considered the bounding value even though it is part of the data request. If no raw data value exists at the entry or exit point, the next data point outside of the range is considered the bounding value
WinCC OA OPC HDA server returns EMPTY values and OPC quality OPC_NOBOUNDS with timestamps of the start and end of requested timerage.
Is the problem in bugfix list already?
When is bugfix planned to release ? for which versions ?
Please look at attached Screenshot from WinCC OA DemoProject and part of OPC secification
Thanks in advance

Re: Bounds error in OPC HDA server
I had a look at the source for the OPC HDA server and I have seen information that bounding values are used somewhere in the code.
As I did not test it I'm not sure if it works.
In the WinCC OA Documentation I have seen that the WinCC OA OPC UA Server supports the readRaw function where you can get "bounding values".
Would it be possible to use OPC UA instead of OPC HDA?
If you need more detailed information and an answer for your questions please get in contact with your common WinCC OA support.

Re: Bounds error in OPC HDA server
Hello, Leopold
Thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately, It is impossible to change protocol due customer requirements. So, It is necessary to have bugfix.
I forgot to attach WinCC OA demo picture.
there are wrong bounding values "EMPTY" with timestamps from start and end of required timerange, instead of this there must be next values outside the range.

Re: Bounds error in OPC HDA server
I got the information from our developer that it seems to be a bug in the WinCC OA OPC HDA server.
Our development department will have a look at it. If and when a bugfix will be available is not defined right now.
