Online Backup Error

Hi everyone,

I configured an online daily automatic backup, being the destination folder a network unit.
I checked the outcome the next day and i got an error:
In DB tab: Status -> Output file contains faults
Info -> WinCC OA: no or bad media type in input file

I changed the destination folder to a local one, and then i tried to begin manually the backup. Db backup did not respond, and the Parametrization backup shows "Backup is running" message in status, and "ASCII output started - please wait" in info, but they have been there for more than two hours.

There are no files in the destination folder.

What can be the reason for this? how can i cancel the backup?

First of all please always add the information which WinCC OA version and operating system is used. It is also important to know if it is a single or redundant server configuration.
For the backup you have to ensure that the operating system user which was used to start the WinCC OA server processes has write permission to the backup folder.

The Version is an old one, the 3.10, running over Windows Server 2010. There are two servers in rredunddant mode.
The system has been working for quite years now, an i tried to change the destination folder to a remote one (i have not been in this project since the begining).
As i know, the system has permission to write in the remote folder (i have created the folders fro mthe machine).
In the case of the remote folder, perhaps is apermission problem, but when going back to the local folder, it hsould work, no?.
Is like the db backup got stuck in the error an can't responf.

I have the same problem, when i try configured folder in network, i have these message "write permission required" but i verify and all are autorized, any sugestion for solved this problem

i have a system redundant in windows server 2016 whit Wincc OA 3.16 path 0014

Possibly you are starting your project using a Windows Service and the settings for the service are not correct.
A local system account must not be used to start the service. You have to use a user account instead of a local system account.
