Embed WEB app into WinccOA

Post by riso77 »

Hello Guys,

We have a following scenario:

- We have a working WinccOA project (SCADA for passenger information displays) that is working.
- We would like to embed other 2 other thirdparty WEB apps into our project (let's call them WEBapp A and WEBapp B) and make them accesible to the customer from within WinccOA, so that the customer had the feeling they are part of the product (eg. not opened extarnally in web browser).
- Both WEBapps run ok in IE, WEBapp B does not run in Chrome.
- We have tried to embed these apps into WinccOA using Webview widget.
- The initial page (authentication into WEBapps) gets displayed in Webview
- Webapp A passes the initial authentication and loads the initial Webapp page, however working with the WEBapp from within the WebView widget feels far behind then working with the WEBapp in the web browser. The feel is slow, often unresponsive, some graphics is disturbed or even not displayed.
- Webapp B does not even pass the authentication and just a small "Loading" shines in the top left corner and nothing happens next.

My questions would be:
1. What would be the cleanest approach and to integrate the thirdparty WEBapps into WinccOA so that the look and feel is the same as in the common web browser?
2. Provided that the WEBapp is just a one plain HTML page (let's say - shows only a colour of a LED and a temperature in degrees) that comes up after authentification, is there a way to read this values from the HTML and assign them to datapoints and do the graphics in WinccOA. Is this concept even worth trying?
3. Can I state that, let's say my webapp was optimized for IE and not for chrome (or vice versa) that it will not load / will have troubles in Webview widget?

Sorry for the silly questions, but I am not a programmer and I am trying to get a picture how this concept could work.

thanks in advance
Richard
