Requirements

  • Correctly installed WinCC OA version 3.0 or higher.
  • GSM modem or mobile phone (with integrated modem) with a serial, IR, USB or Bluetooth interface to the computer (allocated to a virtual COM port). The GSM modem AG LT910-WW from Telic AG is supported.

    Important:
    You also need to order a Rutronik power supply and an antenna.

Installation

  • Configure the datapoint via the configuration panel. For details on data point configuration, see chapter SMS Configuration.
Note:
Configure the settings via the SMS Configuration panel before you plug in the modem.
  • Plug in your modem. In case of a USB modem a driver installation is necessary. If you use a USB modem, also install a driver. For how to install the driver, see SMS configuration.
  • Start the Control script sms.ctl with a Control Manager in the WinCC OA console.
  • You can use the WinCC OA default panels for sending and receiving of SMS messages or the control functions as you want. For details on Control functions, see chapters sendSMS() and readSMS(). The demo SMS panel can be started via the System management panel on the Communication tab (button SMS) or in the module VISION: 
    WCCOAui -extend -p vision/SMS-Main.pn
