Statens Vegvesen traffic south highway

Short description:

In 2004 Norcon Engineering got a contract to deliver a Scada system to Statens Vegvesen. (Norwegian Road Authority).

The system is monitoring traffic in the county Vest-Agder and county Aust-Agder in the south of Norway. An area of 16.500 square km.

A total of 40 tunnels (including some bridges) are monitored and controlled from the system.

System is built up with a redundant servers, located in Kristiansand, but are supervised from the Road Traffic Central located in Porsgrunn, Telemark. (180km distance). At the moment there are 8 drivers with a total of 40.000 IO. Drivers are run on separate computers geographically distributed to other locations to reduce the network traffic.All PLC communication is via OPC to different PLC types. (Mitshubishi, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Saia)
