Hello to all,

starting with Version 3.13 Onlinehelp in Chapter
Installation->Requirements for WinCC OA->Software requirements
says that hypens "-" are strictly forbidden in computer names.

As the hyphen is the only valid character to structure hostnames this is very bad news.
We have many systems running without any problems using hypens in the hostnames for servers and workstations.
Trying to create a redundant project with redundant networks proposes! hostnames containing hyphens.

So why this restriction ?

Some explanations will be very helpful.

The described restriction is still in the 3.14 help as well.
If it is no longer applicable, then it should be removed there as well.
Who is responsible for doing that? :huh:

Dear Mr. Kreiner,

I changed the 3.14 Online Help (removed the restriction). The change will be available with the WinCC OA 3.14 patch 3.14 P003.
