InfluxDB reset value

Hello,

I am using WinCC OA 3.17 with the latest update.
I do not find any commands or a simple button on the gedi, for delete the archive e alarms value with NGA archive.
Is there a command for reset them?
Or if there is the possibility to delete the archive/alarm values by deleting manually some folders in the project.

Hi,

You can just stop the project. delete the folder influx in db/wincc_oaand replace it with the one in C:\Siemens\Automation\WinCC_OA\3.17\db\wincc_oa

This will provide you with a clean influxdb, without any data and with default etm login credentials.

Thank you for the reply but it is not what that's not what I mean.

Normally I create the customer's project on my workstation. During the test, maybe I have to simulate some archived values and alarms.
Then, when I complete it, I have to prepare the customer's PC.
I want to put on the customer's PC the project cleaned of all archived data but maintaining all settings.

If you want to get rid of data created during engineering and/or testing you can use the following approach:
-- Make an ASCII export of the current configuration
-- Create a new database using the tool WCCOAtoolCreateDb
-- Start the project
-- Make the ASCII import

But is it possible to manually delete the folder where the values are stored?
As for non-NGA archives, where you could delete VAxxxxx folder.

Hi Andrea,

This is exactly what I explained to you. Deleted influx folder only delete historical data. I am not talking about deleting the whole db folder.

If you delete only the VA folders in a project using standard archiving the database will still contain the historical alerts.
Therefore it is easier to generate a new database.

If the influx folder is deleted and the project is restarted the internal datapoints still have information saved for the archive groups which was valid before deleting the folder.
I am not sure if the project will then work without some negative effects.

As far as I have tested, it will recreate the groups as configured when you use a clean influxdb.

Yes, the groups are created. The question is if the segment list saved in WinCC OA fits the database?
In my tests the segment list still had information for data aready deleted.

Anyone found a easy "delete all history" option?

I agree manually deleting files would be a nice option. But the residue information Leopold mentions is an issue.. Tmost reliable path I found is just manually deleting the segments using the "runtime engineering".
