Problems with User Management saveChanges method

Post by pablo.chamorro » Mon Jun 29, 2020 3:38 pm

Hi, we are trying to have a user administration panel to let the administrators users can control their users via desktop UI.

For example, we copy the example of the addUser() function in the documentation help and it returns a TRUE, that means that all is correct, but at the moment to save the changes using the saveChanges() function we recibe a SEVERE Empty password is not allowed! on log viewer.

We try hard to understand why that occurs, but we are stuck.

We use WinCCOA 3.17 P005.

Thanks.

Hi,
The example in the documentation is only an example how to use the function, but it´s not complete.
it´s not allowed to create a USER with empty password! an initial password must be defined. For this you can use the method setPassword from the class UserManagementUser .
Example: in the documentation script example, add the line usr.setPassword("hallo"); (hallo is for example initial passwort) after the line with addUser.
the initial password can be later changed by the user.
Please think also to assign the user to a group.
