Requirements for OS Authentication

Post by fleitner » Mon Jan 13, 2020 3:39 pm

Hello,

we are in the process of creating a WinCC OA project with Active Directory authentication.

On our development machines, we can switch to AD authentication ('OS Auth.') and use our corporate AD.

Now we want to create a test machine in the customer environment to start testing in their environment and their AD.
However, the option 'OS Auth.' is not in the list under user administration, only the empty field and 'Standard'.

In both cases, the user is a normal domain user.

What is the trigger used by WinCC OA that makes the option 'OS Auth.' available?
Is there a way I can test this requirement on the command line?

WinCC OA: 3.16 P012
Windows 10

Best regards
Frank

If you want to switch the authentication type you must be root user.
Please check if the panel works when running as root user.

A windows machine must be part of a domain.

Thank you for the answers. It turns out there was an issue with domain connectivity on the customer network, which likely caused this issue.
