Recovering old archive values

Post by jonred » Fri Jul 05, 2019 12:14 pm

Hi,

a client is storing some data in archive_1. LAter, we added more data to that archive (same datapoints type, usign ascii manager). because a config mistake, the data stored is from about 5 months now, when previously it was for about 2 years. they noticed when trying to report the last current year data. i changed the stored datapoints in archive configuration, so the data should be strored correctly now, but i need to recover the old data.
I made a copy of the project and tested the method in my test enviroment.
I tried to delete the archives and restore archives from online backup using th option from database configuration -> Activity, but the archives don't appear and data can't be retrieved via repottings -> sql query. The files are actually copied from de backup directory to the project directory, but WinCC OA can't "see" them.
Now, i only have last file data. (i am using a copy of the project in my lab)

¿What is the reason for this?

Thank you very much

Possibly the old files are already marked as "deleted" and therefore you cannot access the files.
You can try to
-- configure a backup directory for the value archive
-- copy the old archive files to this directory
-- use the archive configuration panels to restore the files

Thank you, I tried that in my lab and i could recover the old data.

In a redundant system, i suposse i have to delete the online files to recover from both servers, and then recover using the activity panel in the active host, true?

Thank you very much
