there is any type of objections or possibilities of using "...._alert_hdl.._act_range" dpe's with dp_fct?

Before discussing the possibilities of dp functions (which are designed to react on value changes not alerts) please describe what you want to do.

thanks for your reply.
I think you already answered my question here: "designed to react on value changes not alerts".
(I was try to achieve the following: base on the alert active range of a dp1, change dp2 to true or false for example.)

Is it possible to use this as a "auto reset" of a boolean after a fixed amount of time?

A dp function is used to react on values changes of other dp elements and to set the dp element where the dp function is configured.
If you configure a dp function which refers to itself you will create an endless loop.
When you want to reset a dp element after a defined period of time you can use a CTRL script which is connected to this dp element and writes it again.
Even in that case you have to keep in mind that making a dpSet() on the dp element will trigger again the work function.
