Remote UI client log file

Post by denisisakovic »

Hello,
Recently i had to use a remote UI client for my winccOA project and i have managed that succesfully. I am using SIMATIC ITC1900 V3 for my remote UI. Is it possible to retrieve log file from that UI?

Currently there is no easy possibility to get the log files saved on an ITC client.
Why do you want to "download" the log files?

I have tried to use function "setScaleStyle(SCALE_FIT_TO_MODULE, moduleName)" in my embedded module to fit panels with bigger size than the display size of that ITC client (which is 1366 x 768 pixels). It works fine when testing locally on my laptop, but it won't work on the HMI.
So maybe by looking into the log file I could get more information regarding that problem.

Edit:
Regarding the log file, I am only interested for the UI log file which is generated by the peroject itself, not the other logs (those which the ITC client generates, if there are any)

As written in my previous post accessing the WinCC OA log files is not possible in an easy way. As far as I know you would need direct access to the file system which requires special permissions.
I am pretty sure that setScaleStyle() will not return an error or a log entry if it does not work. Possibly only a log message will be written if the passed parameters are wrong.

If you need further assistance you can possibly get in contact with your common WinCC OA support.
