Re: Low Level Comparison and Value Overwriting

I can of course come up with some "innovative" methods like a special control manager that checks if a value was changed by any manager other then DRV and change it back, but it seems pretty cumbersome. Am I just missing something obvious conceptually?

Low Level Comparison and Value Overwriting

<r>Hi guys!
Got a bit of a theoretical question.

Say, my project has whole bunch of devices and I read their states as integers from the Siemens PLC. I use S7 driver and configured _address on every one of those datapoints.
I used "Low Level Comparison" as advised to avoid messa...

Alerts list and banner strange behaviour of a date format

<r>Hi!

I've noticed that my alert banner and alerts list seem to ignore the format of the Time and Ack.Time columns.

I've set it to be %d/%m/%Y %X
Sometimes it is applied properly and I get dates like 13/02/2014 3:00:00 PM

But if I restart then sometimes it reve...

Re: maxConnectMessageSize

Problem solved, please, disregard. Someone managed to put "maxConnectMessageSize" into a wrong config file section, so it wasn't processed correctly

Re: WinCC OA and S7-PLCSIM?

Oh, I know about Net2PlcSim. It is not actually a Siemens product. Also I find it quite unstable when there is a lot of data going through. Seem to crash PLSSIM very often. Even with poll rate of 3 seconds. I was hoping WinCC OA can talk to PLCSIM directly...

Re: WinCC OA and S7-PLCSIM?

Hi Alain,

Can you elaborate? Are the comms settings different from the regular S7 PLC?

Re: Redundant Servers?

<r>Hi Todd,

Direct connection is usually an option when the servers are next to each other.
To mitigate the risk of damage from, say, fire we are actually installing the servers on the opposite sides of the area controlled and have a Ethernet loop between the servers.
Unfortunat...

Redundant Servers?

<r>Hi!

I have a question in regards to a redundant servers operation. Would really appreciate if someone can respond.

I have a pair of redundant servers. If I understand correctly, if a network connection between the servers disappears, both servers will become active as they b...
